2050 N. Natchez Ave.
Chicago, IL 60707
Located on the residential street N Natchez, UNO Galewood Elementary School, is certainly one of the best-looking schools in the city of Chicago. Designed by Urban Works Ltd, an architectural company from the same city, the school has 18 classrooms and educational facilities for 600 students.
The design is full of contrasts between glass, metal, concrete and of course wood, which is responsible for giving color and a natural feel to this building. The ProdEX wooden panels, in pale color, cover the east and west walls, and fall like an amazing waterfall by the curved wall on the southern part of the facade, both inside and outside of the building providing the inside of the building with a warm feel perfectly harmonized with the side windows.
This part of the building appears to reach the sky and is a clear example of the infinite possibilities that this material provides, giving the students the opportunity to enjoy an open, and versatile space using the latest architectural technology, and inspiring students to explore, learn and create the knowledge of tomorrow.
